The Gluconic Acid Biosensor

The Biolan's Gluconic Acid Biosensor has been assessed by the CIVC during the 2010 harvest and qualified as a "reliable method" for the wineries.

The Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne, le CIVC, has realised durong the harvest a comparative study of the biosensor designed to measure the Gluconic Acid by Biolan, and concluded that the method is interesting because its simple to use and very reliable compared to the others traditionals measurement methods.

The experts, after having realised dozens of measurements, have presented their report in which they qualify the Biolan's Biosenor as "an alternative solution easier than the sequentials analyzers, that can be used in differents places of the winery, such as in the pressing shed or in the place of reception of the grappe juice".

To sum up, the study affirms that the Biolan's Biosensor is an interesting alternative method to measur the gluconic acid. Moreover the initial investment is minot comparing with the one supposed with a sequential analyzer.

For practical purposes, the measurement is simple to do, even if it requires laboratory equipment, and you have to manage with meticulousness, but the reliability of the measurement is satisfactory.
