The Malic Acid Biosensor already in the market

14|10|2011

Malic Acid Biotest

It joins the biotechnology products family, formed by the Gluconic Acid and the Glucose/Fructose detectors. With the most developed technology, they allow monitorised answers, in three minutes, from the winery.

Biolan Microbiosensores S.L. will launch next week on the market the new Malic Acid Biosensor, able to measure in must, grape and for the end of the malolactic fermentation this parameter in a precise, reliable and easy way, very interesting for the wineries.

Following the company research line on biosensors, the new detector completes the range of the ones already developed, Gluconic Acid and Glucose/Fructose, with the advantage of doing the measurement on the same device, only changing the biotest.

The Malic Acid biosensor will be available since the 18th of October, and will continue the revolution that these detectors are responsible for in the control of the quality and the sanitary state of the grape. The method doesn’t require qualified staff. It’s reliable, precise, portable and more economic than the ones existing until today, only keeping the Biolan’s philosophy that the wineries can realise themselves their analysis, in a easy and rigorous way, without turning to external laboratories.

The wine’s world was waiting for the Malic Acid Biosensor since this parameter is a key parameter in the elaboration process, and nowadays, in some countries, it is measured in grape too, to establish the optimum moment for the harvest.

Besides this, Biolan is in the last phase of the development of the biosensor to detect the Sucrose in sparkling wines, both when we add the liqueur de tirage and the liqueur d’expedition, and expects to launch it for the end of this year. The prevision is to follow completing the range of biosensors in the 2012 with the Histamine and Free SO2 detectors.
